Yoga poses are a big part of my bag of tricks. I'm a 200 hour certified yoga instructor. What I like about yoga is the stability one can gain while elongating the muscles and nerves for the ideal balance of strength and flexibly. Despite what many think, yoga is not all about stretching. In its physicality, yoga is about stability! Most people don't realize this. I often look around a yoga classroom of people struggling to hold poses, collapsing into their spines or shoulders, and totally missing the point of the poses that they are doing. I'll prescribe certain yoga poses as an option for clients, because you don't need any equipment to do them! (maybe a mat) You don't have to drive to the gym and you don't need bands or weights. You can be in your pajamas and drop down for a healing yoga pose or quick challenging down dog to plank series. While such poses may be difficult at first, with consistent practice, they get easier and you'll always feel more energized after doing a little yoga.
